Ollerton lies in the heart of Sherwood Forest and is served by two major trunk routes. The A1 is 6 miles to the east and the A614 is 1 mile to the west. A considerable volume of traffic uses the Ollerton roundabout where the A614 intersects the A616 and the A6075. The A614 is a major link to the A1 near Worksop in the north and Nottingham to the south, the A616 connects Sheffield with Newark and the A6075 provides a cross-country link between Mansfield and the Great North Road at Tuxford.
There is no passenger rail link to Ollerton.
Travellers from the south using the M1 should leave the motorway at junction 28 and follow the A38 through Mansfield, join the A617 at Rainworth and then use the A614 into Ollerton. M1 travellers from the north should leave the motorway at junction 30 where the A616 passes straight through Ollerton. Those using the A1 should take the A6075 at Tuxford which passes through the village of Kirton before reaching Ollerton.
