Thoresby Colliery Youth Band qualify for National Finals

Nottinghamshire and the Midlands Region are to be represented at the Finals of the National Brass Band Championships in September in Harrogate by the Thoresby Colliery Youth Band. Their solid performance of the ‘Four Cities Symphony’ at the Midlands Regional Championships impressed the judges so much that they were awarded 3rd prize out of an entry of 23 bands in the Fourth Section.

The youngsters are obviously excited about their achievement and are looking forward to the challenge ahead. The band, based in the small mining village of Edwinstowe, are now setting up fund raising activities to help with the cost of their travel and accommodation for their trip to Harrogate and would be pleased for your support at these events.
